About this tool

This generator lays out a printable comic strip template, complete with panels, speech bubbles and captions students can edit before it goes to paper. It's a natural companion to any storytelling unit for students who think better in pictures than paragraphs, letting them plan dialogue and pacing panel by panel instead of sentence by sentence. Use it for a summary of a novel chapter, a retelling of a historical event, or a fully original short story told in four or six panels. Fill in a sample strip on the board first so students see how much story a single panel can carry.
