About this tool

Midway through a story-writing session, this generator hands out a twist nobody saw coming and asks students to bend their plot around it. It's a great pressure-release valve for a class that's written itself into a corner, and it's just as fun as a deliberate challenge dropped into a collaborative or individual story. Spin it once for the whole room and watch a dozen students solve the same twist a dozen different ways, or let each student spin their own for a more chaotic, unpredictable set of stories. Save it for the moment energy starts to dip, right when a fresh complication is most welcome.
