About this tool

Each roll of these story dice hands students the building blocks of a plot: a character, a setting, a problem, and an ending, all pulled at random. It's built for the moment a writing workshop stalls and half the class insists they have "nothing to write about" — one roll gives everyone a starting point, and no two students land on the same combination. Use it for warm-up freewrites, flash fiction, or as a backup activity when a lesson finishes early. Roll once for the whole class, or let each student roll their own and compare where they land.
